Busy weekend for Marine Rescue
The weekend of March 15 and 16 was a busy one for Marine Rescue Central Coast.
Red Watch was rostered-on and taking care of business.
on Saturday, after getting the vessels ready for operations, five of the Watch's seven new members were welcomed and began the induction process.
On that afternoon, two of the trainees got to experience first-hand the kind of work we do, day in, day out.
Squeezing under Spike Milligan Bridge, one of our vessels went to the assistance of a 5.5m Quintrex with engine difficulties in Woy Woy Bay.
Sunday saw more trainee inductions and training.
There were two further assists, one a yacht aground in mud just off Green Point, the other another small vessel with mechanical failure, this time in Paddy's Channel.
The unit issued reminders to have engines serviced regularly, to check fuel levels and fuel quality, and to log-on with Marine Rescue.
This can be done by phone on 4337 9600, on VHF 16 or via the Marine Rescue app.
