College student selected for Minister's council

Brisbane Water Secondary College Year 10 student William Kennedy has been selected for the NSW Minister for Education's Student Representative Council.

William is one of 26 students from nine regions across the state who will have the opportunity to influence education policy and advocate for students at the highest level.

He is pictured with 2023 school captain Charli Grant, who also served on the Minister's advisory group.

"It's clear that Brisbane Water Secondary College continues to foster a strong pipeline of student leaders who make an impact well beyond the classroom," said Woy Woy campus principal Ms Rebecca Cooper.

"This rigorous selection process ensures only the most passionate and forward-thinking students are chosen to shape the future of education in NSW.

"William will now work alongside the Minister for Education and key stakeholders, ensuring that student voices are heard and real change is made.

"We can't wait to see what he achieves in this role."
