Surf club receives grant for new training equipment
Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club will use a $30,000 grant for new equipment will help future lifesavers in their training.
The club has purchased equipment to assist the clubs under-19 boat crews (both male and female), under-17 and under-19 male and female surf swim, and iron person competitors, and under-13 board paddlers, as well as four pop-up tents for sun safety.
The Category 2 ClubGrant through Ettalong Diggers for $30,000 was presented to the surf club recently.
Ettalong Diggers community and tourism manager Ms Kim Cole said: "We wish to thank the Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club for all the wonderful work they do, keeping locals and visitors safe on our beautiful beaches."
New members are welcome at the club, which proudly claims a history of "no lives lost during patrol hours".
