CWA branch to continue student well-being partnership
The Woy Woy branch of the Country Women's Association intends to continue its "student well-being partnership" with Woy Woy Public School for the 2025 school year.
The branch started fortnightly deliveries of groceries for the school's Breakfast Club in the last term of last year.
The deliveries allow the school to expand its menu to include a greater variety of fruit options - peaches, nectarines, pears and bananas - where previously the branch had only been able to offer students apples.
The branch has also donated boxes of muesli bars and fruit bars, cheese slices and tubs of margarine which has allowed the school to provide lunch and recess offerings in the form of sandwiches and snacks.
The branch also donated funding towards a student well-being program for the boys who attend the Umina Police Citizens Youth Club every Thursday to participate in a physical education and social skills training course.
The program aims to equip these students with the ability to be in control of their emotional responses through grounding, centredness and mental focus, increased self-respect, self-control and self-confidence, and enhanced resilience skills and wellbeing.
The branch is seeking support from the community in attending its market days and its pop-up shop every Wednesday from 9am to 12pm for gifts, jams and pickles."
