February ends with half average rainfall
Less than half the average monthly rainfall was recorded on the Peninsula in February.
A total of 68.5mm was recorded for the month, only 45 per cent of the month's average of 155mm.
It was the third driest February in 20 years, with only 2023 and 2016 recording lower figures.
The cumulative total at the end of February was 246.7mm 10.3 per cent less than the average of 275mm.
In the first nine days of March, 38.9mm has been recorded, less than a quarter of the month's average of 174mm..
