Aged care staff speak of pleasure in work
Three staff of a Umina aged care facility have spoken of their pleasure in working for the organisation.
Ms Kim Friend said: "I have been working at Peninsula Villages for four years now.
I have a certificate IV in medication administration, and I work as a care partner and as a mentor.
"I love working with residents who live with dementia, caring for them and making them happy and comfortable.
"I am proud to work at Peninsula Villages, and I feel a part of this community."
Ms Jules Backhouse said: "I am proud to work at Peninsula Villages.
"I started by gaining a certificate III in social support and have worked as a care partner in Pam Palmer House.
"I was successful in a position in the lifestyle team in November, and I am also now completing the certificate IV in leisure and health.
"I have worked here for one year.
"I love building connections and relationships with the residents and the community at Peninsula Villages, along with the opportunities I've received."
Ms Deb Fox said: "I have been working at Peninsula Villages for 14 years and am the clinical care coordinator for Pam Palmer House.
"I lead an exceptional team of registered nurses and care partners.
"We work extensively with residents and family members to maintain individuals' quality of life.
"I am proud to work here, have great colleagues, I have great support from management, and I love being a part of the residents' lives."
