Older Women's Network raises $1100 for food donation

The Deepwater Older Women's Network has raise $1100 for Mary Mac's Place, Care4Coast and Allawah House through a fashion parade held earlier this month.

The event was held at the Country Women's Association Hall in Umina and was a sold out event, according to secretary Ms Jennifer Brown.

"The event was a fundraiser to provide food for hungry, homeless and disadvantaged people."

She said the event started in party mood with a glass of champagne and tap dancing performed by the Madeline Stephenson Troupe.

Models Ms Barbara Stoddart, Ms Mary Clark, Ms Josephine Gann, Ms Gay Smith and Ms Lynn Jones were dressed by Sarongs Ladies Fashion of Ettalong Beach, with proprietor Ms Leanne Kowalczyk and daughter Jemma in the back room.

After the fashion parade, an afternoon tea with sandwiches, home-baked cakes, slices and biscuits was provided by the Deepwater network committee.

A lucky door prize was drawn followed by a raffle draw.

The Deepwater Older Women's Network's next event will be a Christmas raffle at Deepwater Plaza, Woy Woy, on December 13 and 14.
