Local authors sought for book launch program
Expressions of interest are now open for a Local Author Book Launch Program to be held at the end of May and early June.
It will be held as part of Words on the Waves Festival, which will run from Wednesday, May 29, to Monday, June 3.
The launches will be free to attend.
"The purpose of this program is to shine a light on Central Coast authors and bring people together over a shared love of books and reading," said book launch co-ordinator Ms Mandi McIntosh, former Umina independent bookstore owner.
Three book launches took place as part of the Festival in 2022 and eight featuring 14 authors last year, with launch venues on the Peninsula including Woy Woy library.
"The local launches are a great project to work on, as they are a wonderful way to give back to our community of readers and writers," said Ms McIntosh.
"Helping locals bring their books into the community is rewarding and each one is a unique experience.
"I love getting to read over all the entries and experiencing new voices."
