Naidoc Week celebrations

Empire Bay Public School has held a number of Education-Naidoc Week celebrations over the last week.

The school welcomed special guests on Monday, July 30, for the opening assembly which included a dynamic performance from the Brisbane Water Secondary College Didge Group and singing from Empire Bay's Kindergarten to Year 2 choir.

"Our senior students then engaged in some aboriginal learning led by our special guests Renette Burgess and Kelly Godden," said principal Mr Brad Lewis.

"Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 were also entertained by Tjupurru and his one-man show, Didjeribone, a mixture of electronic and traditional aboriginal music.

"Kindergarten to Year 2 students also enjoyed a pleasant session participating in some traditional Aboriginal games," said Mr Lewis.
