Schools urged to join in Rotary innovation challenge
The Rotary Club of Brisbane Water is calling on local schools to consider participating in a Pitch for Purpose Innovation Challenge.
"Pitch for Purpose is an opportunity for students to hone their skills in innovation and design thinking while solving real-world problems related to environmental protection," said club co-president Ms Marion Cornish.
She said Rotary Brisbane Water was a club keen on saving the environment.
"I urge schools to participate in this Rotary challenge and help their students become leaders in social impact and sustainability.
"Through immersive workshops and hands-on experiences, students will work in teams to create innovative solutions that address community and global issues.
"Students will tackle challenges that address United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Rotary's seventh area of focus, protecting the environment.
"The program supports key learning outcomes and helps teachers enhance student engagement, critical thinking and collaboration.
"The program starts February 2025, so now is the time for schools to start preparing and finding out more."
Schools have to register their interest by the end of this month.
