College girls contest State rugby league grand final
Brisbane Water Secondary College's girls rugby league has played for the State Championship on Wednesday, October 30, after defeating Bass High School earlier this year.
The team shot out to an early 10-0 lead, with all of their skill, speed, and toughness were on full display, according to their coaches.
A patient opposition hung in there, and scored just before halftime to make the score 10-6.
The combination of injuries to key players and the hot conditions worked against the College tam as the opposition finished the better team, ending up with a 20-10 win.
"It is a mammoth achievement for one of our teams to progress to the State grand final, and it needs to be acknowledged that this was an outstanding achievement from an outstanding team," said coaches Mr Pat Crouch, Mr Kevin Hulls and Mr Jeff Coroneos.
