Three birthday parties for 100-year-old
The popularity of 100-year-old Ms Kitty Patterson can be gauged by the three birthday parties thrown for her and a surprise visit from Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch in the last couple of weeks.
The War Widows Association was first with an early celebration her birthday in the ballroom of the Ettalong Diggers Club.
Ms Patterson is a member at Ettalong Diggers and still ballroom dances.
For the second party, "an abundance of staff, volunteers, friends and family" celebrated her 100th birthday on October 15 at Peninsula Village, where she is resident.
Her daughter and son-in-law, presented her with a letter from the King and Legacy presented her with a bunch of flowers.
The celebrations included a birthday cake and "a round of singing".
The Everglades Bowling Club where she is still an active bowler held a celebration on October 22.
Before the celebration, "Kitty was out on the bowling green enjoying a wonderful game of bowls surrounded by all of her friends," club staff reported.
Ms Tesch said she paid Ms Patterson a surprise visit for her 100th birthday.
"My heart is still singing.
"Kitty's personality lit up the room and she shared that she still enjoys playing bingo as well as bowling with her friends.
"Kitty is the perfect example of living life to the fullest, and I am so grateful that I got to meet her.
"Happy birthday, Kitty."
