Peninsula News uses website shortcuts

Peninsula News has started to use website shortcuts for longer website addresses.

The shortcuts will come in the form of http://penne.ws/rain.

Typed into the address bar of your browser, they will take you to a website with a much longer address.

Using the shortcut, sometimes called a "shortened URL", takes less space in the newspaper, looks neater and means less copying for you.

Media releases with website addresses are likely to have those addresses replaced with a shortcut as part of the editing process.

Bear in mind that the destination website does not belong to Peninsula News.

The shortcut is just a quick way to get to that website.

Always exercise caution when using any link, shortened or not, and only visit websites you trust.
