Expired flares program visits Woy Woy

The Transport for NSW Expired Flares Collection Program will visit Woy Woy on Friday, November 22.

Marine Rescue Central Coast has advised: "Most flares have a use-by date of three years, and they must be replaced before the expiry date.

"Flares contain explosive matter which makes safe and legal disposal difficult.

"The mobile expired flare collection program provides the boating community with an opportunity to safely dispose of their out-of-date flares.

"The program visits sites across the state during the peak boating season with dates around the Central Coast."

The Woy Woy collection point will be the Lions Park Boat Ramp, in North Burge Rd, Woy Woy, between 3:30pm and 5pm on Friday, November 22.
