The Big Bowl raises $12,500 for Mary Mac's

The Big Bowl for Mary Mac's Place at Ettalong Bowling Club on October 12 has raised $12,500.

"The $12,500 raised allows us to continue supporting those in our local community who are homeless, transient or needing a helping hand," said Mary Macs project worker Ms Sally Baker.

"We know there's a lot involved in organising an event like this."

She said she was grateful for everyone who helped out in the lead-up and on the day, and for those who came along to play.

The Big Bowl invited the small business community to register teams for a barefoot bowls tournament and contribute to a charity auction, raffle, and sideline "hustles" to raise money for Mary Mac's Place.

The competition attracted 20 teams, with first place going to Wiseberry Queens from Wiseberry Berowra, Killarney Vale and Wyoming.

Second were the Roll Models from Quest Accountants.

Third were Hey Jude from Catholic Care in the diocese of Broken Bay.

Most outstanding players were from Quest Accountants.
