Rotary club runs Melbourne Cup trifecta sweepstakes
The Rotary Club of Woy Woy will be selling Melbourne Cup Trifecta Sweepstakes tickets in Deepwater Plaza from Monday, October 28, through to Tuesday, November 5, or until all tickets are sold.
Proceeds will support community charities and "worthy causes" on the Peninsula, said club president Mr Tom McCann.
Tickets cost one dollar to purchase with three winning tickets each receiving a prize of $800.
"Each ticket includes three numbers, representing three of the horses running in the race," said Mr McCann.
"The tickets with the numbers of the horses that finish in the first three positions are winning tickets, regardless of the order of the numbers on the ticket.
"There will be three sets of tickets so there will be three lucky winners."
Mr McCann said Woy Woy Rotary had been running these sweepstakes for more than 40 years.
"They have generated over $96,000 in prize money returned to winning ticket holders and over $120,000 donated to worthy causes on the Peninsula.
"Rotary Clubs operate on a purely volunteer basis and use all of the funds raised from the community to support community charities and causes."
