Cancelled school trip meant survey at Hardys Bay
Clean4Shore surveyed Brisbane Water towards Hardys Bay, after a school cancelled its outing due to threatening skies on Friday, October 18.
"The first issue was an abandoned damaged tinny near the Pearl farmers depot," said Clean4Shore co-ordinator Mr Graham Johnston.
"This was loaded on board.
"Rileys Bay, on the northern end of Hardy's Bay, had bulk oyster baskets on the foreshores and mangroves.
"These were consistent through the mangroves to Hardy's Bay.
"An old bean bag, timber pallets, poly pipe and an old lounge plus two bags of small litter was dragged from the mangroves onto the barge.
"Locals joined the clean up, delivering more oyster baskets, highlighting a fibreglass dingy sunken for two years.
"This was loaded on board.
"The Dog Track on the southern end of Hardy's Bay again had more oyster baskets, pallet, but more small litter including food wrappings and soft plastics.
"Returning to Gosford Sailing Club, officials confirmed two more vessels, one a fibreglass dingy and the second a damaged tinny.
"Both were loaded on board."
A total of 680kg was offloaded at Woy Woy Tip: the tinnies in the metal bin, the rest buried.
