Uniform 'helps school with discipline and safety'
Wearing of the correct uniform has a significant bearing on a school's ability to maintain a well-disciplined, safe school environment, according to Woy Woy South Public School principal Mr Matt Barr.
"This will be monitored very closely at the beginning of the year," he said.
"This week our students have looked great in their school uniforms."
He said families had prepared the children well for the beginning of the school year.
"A strong start to the year in this area sets us up for continued success and a continuation of the high standards for behaviour and learning that our school has become known for in the community."
Mr Barr said students were requested to attend school in full summer uniform during Term 1, which included a red school hat and plain black shoes.
He asked parents to familiarise themselves with the requirements and circulated photos of students wearing the correct school uniform.
"In particular, please note the types of plain black school shoes and socks (girls plain white, boys plain grey) expected.
"Also note the school hat options in bucket hat and broad-brimmed versions and sport uniform with red polo and black shorts-skirts."
He said questions about the school uniform requirements should be directed to the school office.
