Students offered sponsored trek along Kokoda Trail

Brisbane Water Secondary College Woy Woy campus students have been offered the opportunity to apply for a 10-day sponsored trek along the original Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea.

The Kokoda Youth Leadership Challenge will take place from Monday, September 30, to Friday, October 11.

Students will need to have turned 16 years of age by September 30.

The challenge is sponsored by the Ettalong Diggers Club.

"We are very proud to offer, for the first time, a sponsored opportunity for a student to complete the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea, as part of their Youth Leadership program," said Diggers community manager Ms Kim Cole.

"Our management and board of directors recognise the importance of keeping the Anzac spirit alive, and this sponsorship is a great way to honour this."
