Booker Bay couple raises $2700 for Vision Australia

A Booker Bay couple in their 80s has raised more than $2700 for Vision Australia through their Christmas lights display.

Ms Shirley Crockett said that she and her husband, Noel, raised $2713.85 "with the

wonderful support from family, friends and the community".

As part of the display at their home in Booker Bay Rd, Booker Bay, they ran a competition to count the Santas in the display.

"We had 390 applications and we presented 47 people with prizes," she said.

Another 10 people won but had not collected their prizes.

"I have left messages on their phones and the prizes are still available if they present themselves."

Ms Crockett said some people had "left wonderful messages on the back of the competition forms".

"We love doing the lights for the community, so see you later this year."
