Surfers, swimmers found a kilometre off Ettalong
About 200 people were found swimming, on surfboards and jet skis, chasing waves on the bar nearly a kilometre off Ettalong Beach on Saturday morning, February 3, according to Marine Rescue Central Coast.
"A two-metre swell and ideal weather brought out the keen surfers chasing waves off Ettalong.
"It's unusual to see people that far offshore.
"The bar forms the official entrance to Brisbane Water and can sometimes be treacherous. "Fortunately, on Saturday morning, it wasn't."
