Kerrie wins Minor Singles finals
Kerrie Richens has won the final of the Umina Beach Women's Bowling Club's Minor Singles on Friday, June 13.
The event attracted 16 contestants, with the first few rounds delayed by rainy weather.
The first semi-final was played on Friday, June 6, between Kerrie Richens and Katie Brown.
"This was a great game with good bowls from both players," said website editor Ms Lesley Swales.
"They were neck and neck then Katie got a lead but Kerrie caught up and so it went.
"After 27 ends, Kerrie got the shots she needed to win the match."
The second semi-final was played between Natasha McDowall and Judy Brown on Sunday, June 8.
"The very gusty cold wind made conditions difficult for the players," said Ms Swales.
"Natasha started off well and continued to keep the advantage winning the match.
The final was played between Kerrie Richens and Natasha McDowall on Friday, June 13.
Ms Swales said both players were initially nervous, the game being their first singles final.
"Kerrie went to an early lead but, after 12 ends, Natasha got to within one shot.
"Kerrie again went ahead and after 22 ends eventually got the required shots to win her first final."
