CWA branch hears about local native birds

Umina bird observer Mr Ken Janson has given a talk about local birds to the Umina Beach branch of the Country Women's Association.

He urged members to help reduce the numbers of Indian myna birds, recognised as one of the world's most invasive bird species.

He said the species was unrelated to the native noisy miner species, which was "good".

Mr Janson showed some of his own photographs of local birds found on the Peninsula.
