Louise and Peter Lambeth awarded OAMs
Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving couple Ms Louise Lambeth and Mr Peter Lambeth have been awarded Order of Australia medals for their service to surf life saving.
Ms Lambeth has been facilitator of Beach to Bush programs from 2015 to 2024 and program leader of Silver Salties since 2022.
With her husband, she was co-founder of Deepwater Publishing, which has published her water safety books Tight Lines 2023, Rohit at the River 2021 and Annie and the Waves 2018.
Other community involvements have included being a volunteer liaison officer with Central Coast Health District 2018-2022 and a volunteer with the Woy Woy Presbyterian Church.
Mr Lambeth has taken a number of roles with Surf Life Saving Central Coast, including serving as a member of the management, finance, carnival, social, lifesaving and executive committees.
Recognised last year for his 50 years' service, he has been an age manager since 2010, and has provided supplementary learning for patrol captains.
"Louise and Peter are both passionate about surf lifesaving and are committed to community education and spreading the surf safety message," commented surf club president Mr Michael Cairns.
"Both Louise and Peter are worthy recipients of this award."
