Prof Dalton recognised for service to social advocacy
Umina resident Professor Bronwen Dalton has been appointed a member of the Order of Australia for significant service to social advocacy and social justice academia, and to charitable organisations.
She has been head of the Department of Management at the University of Technology Sydney Business School since 2018.
She has been director of the Masters Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Program since 2003.
Professor Dalton was co-founder in 2018 of Ruff Sleepers, a charity which cares for the pets of homeless people. She has been its chief executive officer since 2020.
She was deputy chair of Volunteering NSW from 2004 to 2017 and a member of an advisory group for the Australian Charities and Non-profit Commission from 2011 to 2018.
She was a board member of the Australia Korea Foundation with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 2009 to 2015 and vice-president of the Korean Studies Association of Australasia from 2017 to 2019.
She has been a member of the editorial board for the Non-profit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly since 2016.
