Aged care building works 'progressing well'
Building works at a Woy Woy aged care home are "progressing well", according to its chief executive.
"Our internal works within the existing building structure is running ahead of schedule, which is fantastic," said Blue Wave Living chief executive Mr Matt Downie..
"We are hopeful of actually delivering this stage a little early, perhaps by September.
"This would allow us access to the new bedrooms and the remainder of the internal space of the Driftwood Household for our residents to enjoy.
"Our external works did suffer from some delays due to recent rains.
"This held up progress on our Palm Sails courtyard space, and the construction of framing up new areas between our two buildings.
"Work is now progressing again in both those areas."
Mr Downie said it was expected that this work would finish around October.
"This stage of the building works is exciting in that it finally joins our two buildings together as one, providing a central linkage improving access and movement though the facility."
He said this would provide more new spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.
"This includes a new hair salon, a private library and sitting room space, a dedicated physio room, and the balance of the Driftwood Household.
"There will also be a new larger laundry built, along with other key staff offices and spaces, including a new staff room.
"We are very much looking forward to completing this stage of works."
