Marine Rescue helps runabout battling wild winds
Marine Rescue Central Coast volunteers have helped a young man in a small runabout struggling with the wild southerly conditions on Brisbane Water on Wednesday afternoon, January 8.
The service's Central Coast 21 rescue vessel was on patrol before returning to its Point Clare base when the runabout was observed in difficulties trying to overcome the strong winds and high waves.
There was one person on board, attempting to return to his home on St Hubert's Island.
The Marine Rescue craft escorted the vessel back to the island with the tinnie following in rescue vessel's slipstream, before the young skipper reached calmer waters in Lintern Channel.
