Proof-readers wanted for archival project
Peninsula News needs help with proof-reading for a project which will make articles from the first 12 issues of the newspaper available online.
Currently, most of the first 12 issues of Peninsula News are not available and the few that are do not list all the articles contained in that issue.
"When we started Peninsula News, we gave little thought to retaining electronic copies for posterity," said editor Mr Mark Snell.
"We were focussed on establishing Peninsula News as a printed paper."
These first issues have now been scanned and converted to editable files, with a view to publishing them on the Peninsula News website.
However, the character recognition has not been perfect and the articles need checking and correcting before they are uploaded.
If you are able to help, please call 4342 5333 or email editor@peninsula.news.
