New partner joins Woy Woy legal firm

A Woy Woy legal firm has admitted a new partner.

Criminal and family lawyer Mr Nick Fagan became a partner at Tonkin Drysdale Partners on Monday, July 1.

Mr Fagan, who originally joined the firm in 2018, left for a stint with the Director of Public Prosecutions in 2021.

He returned to Tonkin Drysdale Partners last year.

He is now the head of its criminal law team.

Partner Mr Paul Tonkin said Mr Fagan was highly-respected, and brought nearly 10 years of experience and exceptional character to the firm as partner.

He said that Mr Fagan had the firm's support to move to the Director of Public Prosecutions to gain invaluable expertise in serious criminal matters.

"At the DPP, Nick prosecuted some of the most serious criminal offences in NSW."

Mr Tonkin said the firm was "pleased to secure Nick's return in 2023 and we are now delighted that he has joined the partnership".

"Combining his experience on both sides of the bar table, Nick is considered one of the leading criminal law solicitors on the Central Coast with a strong reputation for acting in complex criminal matters.

"Nick is also an experienced family law advocate who appears frequently in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

"Nick is an excellent lawyer, particularly as a criminal law advocate and in his family law matters.

"Just as important to us is that Nick is a terrific person in and out of the courtroom and brings an exceptional character for the future of our firm.

"We welcome Nick, Emily, and his family to our partnership and are confident he will bring great passion and enthusiasm to his role as partner, lawyer and of course, mentor to others pursuing law at Tonkin Drysdale Partners."

Mr Fagan said: "I am honoured to join the partnership.

"This firm has been instrumental in my professional growth, and I am committed to contributing to its continued success and development as one of the leading firms on the Coast."

Mr Tonkin is pictured congratulating Mr Fagan, while the other partners Mr Lee Pawlak, Mr Dominic Tonkin and Mr Paul Quinn look on.
