Wayne Dowdle presented with Paul Harris Fellowship

Outgoing president of the Rotary Club of Umina Beach, Mr Wayne Dowdle was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award by Rotary's assistant district governor Ms Christine Owen for his service to Rotary at the club's recent Changeover Dinner.

He was also presented with a photographic collage of events and people, representing the activities of the club during his presidency which was prepared by Ms Olwyn Lewis.

The club has held its 48th Annual Changeover Dinner at the Everglades Country Club in the presence of 50 members and guests.

The club's annual report was presented by Mr Dowdle, followed by the changeover to incoming president Mr David Tanare.

"Wayne has just completed an outstanding two years of club leadership, instead of the more usual one year, having previously served as club president in 1996-97," said club publicity officer Mr Pat Lewis.

Past president Mr Bruce Croft was also presented with a Paul Harris Sapphire Pin and Mr Ian Johnson was named Club Person of the Year.

Mr Lewis said the club's major goals for the coming year were increased club membership, greater community service and engagement, and a focus on development for our local young people.
