Paul Chapman nominates for Team Central Coast

Mr Paul Chapman has nominated as a candidate for Gosford West ward in the council elections as part of the Team Central Coast ticket.

Principal and founder of Central Coast Sports College, Mr Chapman said: "I have first hand knowledge of the challenges of creating opportunities on the Coast.

"I have been a resident of the Central Coast for more than 15 years and during this time I have been involved in a number of organisations that have a diverse impact on the Central Coast.

"A very common theme I see is many people complaining about the issues at council.

"Rather than complain, I am someone who likes to understand first and then actually take action to solve issues.

"I also understand the role of a council members is to assist with governing the whole Coast and not to run on just one particular issue.

"The Coast is such a unique area with so much potential and my goal is to support the staff and management at Council by providing independent advice and assist them in doing the very difficult job of delivering on service throughout the Coast.

"Tough decisions need to be made to help drive cost down so that residents on the Coast get the services we all deserve and to allow development and opportunities to thrive once again.

"I continue to get surprised when I hear of companies and business owners pass over the Central Coast to go to councils that are easier to deal with.

"It is time for us to make the Central Coast a go-to destination for people who want to make things better, provide opportunities for our residents and to stop people thinking they need to leave the Coast to get a go.

"We need to reduce red tape, encourage high quality people to work at council and to really focus on the core problems without getting distracted by things we cannot control."
