Legacy opens applications for scholarship program
Brisbane Water Legacy has opened applications for its 2024 Scholarship Program.
The scholarships are open to students under 25 who are direct descendants of a veteran.
Applications are open all year, but are reviewed in time for the following academic year.
Applications received between September and December will be considered for studies starting in the following year.
Students must be planning to study full-time at university or an approved private college or to undertake an apprenticeship or VET course through TAFE and must be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage.
Under the program, Legacy also provides financial support for apprenticeships, studies in the creative arts or sport, activities of a personal development nature, as well as for completion of Years 11 and 12 at high school.
A direct descendant is a child, grandchild, great-grandchild or legally-adopted child of an Australian veteran.
Australian veterans are listed on the Australian War Memorial website.
