Line marking agreed for Cowper Rd
The Central Coast Local Traffic Committee has resolved to install double line road marking on Cowper Rd, Umina, between Lace Ave and Janet Ave.
The decision came after the Council has received complaints from residents about cars cutting the corner at the intersection of Cowper Rd and Lace Ave.
"Council's investigations revealed that there is existing BB centre line in the eastern section of Cowper Rd that terminates at the intersection of Janet Avenue.
"Council is proposing to install 57 metres of BB centre line in Cowper Rd between Lace Ave and Janet Ave.
"The proposed line marking will not reduce available on-street parking.
"Consultation was carried out with adjacent residents with no objections received.
"The cost for the installation of the line marking will be accommodated within the existing Traffic Facilities budget and be undertaken as soon as work priorities permit.
"The extension of BB centre line marking will assist with deterring corner cutting and provides consistent line marking for the full length of Cowper Rd."
