Tahlia wins five medals at Australian championships

Woy Woy Pirates Swim Club member Tahlia Blanshard has returned from the Australian Age Swimming Championships with five medals.

Tahlia competed across several events in the multiclass category of the championships.

Her first medal came when she was third in the Girls' 17-18 50 LC Metre Backstroke.

This was followed by a silver in the Girls 17-18 50 LC Metre Freestyle and then another bronze in the Girls 17-18 50 LC Metre Butterfly.

Tahlia took out bronze in the Girls 17-18 100 LC Metre Backstroke and ended her run in the championships when she placed third in the Girls 16-18 200 LC Metre IM.

Fellow club member Joshua Smith also contested the Boys 15-16 multiclass events.

While he did not win a medal, he set a new personal best in the 50 LC Metre Freestyle with a time of 29.37 seconds.
