CWA branch sponsors Guide Dog puppy
The Woy Woy branch of the Country Women's Association has sponsored a Guide Dog puppy.
"We are always looking for ways to help both our local community, and people further afield," said branch president Ms Jane Bowtell.
"Recently, inspired by the idea of one of our members, we decided to sponsor a puppy with Guide Dogs NSW-ACT.
"Every day, 28 Australians are diagnosed with sight loss and three out of four people in NSW and the ACT who need a guide dog do not have one.
"This service ensures that Australians with low vision or sight loss can be independent and have the freedom and security just like the rest of us.
"We are so pleased to know that our monthly contribution will help towards training and enrichment equipment, maintenance of kennel facilities, veterinary costs, and expert dog training staff to ensure these puppies have the best start possible to become exceptional Guide Dogs," Ms Bowtell said.
