Surf club to hold annual meeting

Killcare Surf Life Saving Club's annual meeting will be held at its clubhouse on July 6.

Club president Mr Peter Bagnall said the annual general meeting was the opportunity for members to bring up any issues or ideas for the elected committee, both positive and negative.

"One of the positions that will be vacant is the position of director of life savings services or, as we commonly know it, club captain.

"Current captain Scott Vernon is unable to continue with the role next season due to family and work commitments."

Mr Bagnall said Scott had shown hard work and dedication over the past two years in what was a difficult period for the club.

"Scott was definitely thrown in at the deep end and did a great job," he said.

"There is also the vacant position of vice-captain which would definitely ease the load on the new director."
