Add $10 million for foreshore work
I know we are well into the election promises period, but I think Anne Charlton's announcement in the "Labor promises second Ettalong foreshore project" article (Peninsula News, edition 467) suggests Peninsula residents are very naive.
Anne says Labor has committed $2.5m to the project.
The locals can count, and that seems very short of the mark.
The first stage of the project cost $5.4m and covered just over 1km of foreshore.
Anne's proposal is to cover twice that distance, so maybe $10m would be a more realistic investment.
Adding to this cost is that the second stage will cover ocean-facing beach, which is likely to cost even more to build.
Maybe Anne can add a "1" to the front of that number and make sure the Peninsula gets the resources it deserves.
