Charity bowls held at Everglades

A group of lawn bowlers who raise money for charity held their April Bowls Day at Everglades Country Club, Woy Woy.

The Central Coast Kids in Need Charity Bowls group had previously met at Woy Woy Bowling Club's greens at Sporties.

"It was another great event at Everglades with 38 bowlers in attendance and plenty of supporters as well, including our regulars from the Woy Woy Leagues Social Club who were adorned in their new uniforms," said organiser Mr Ken Dixon.

"We filled the Star Room for our lunch and raffle and raised $1040 on the day which included a donation of $150 from Dave Bevan, the proceeds from his woodworking skills, as well as a cheque to come from Everglades for our green fees.

"Everglades again paid for our lunch and we are very grateful to the club for this generosity.

"We have now raised almost $4000 for Central Coast Kids in Need this year," Mr Dixon said.

Central Coast Kids in Need raises money to assist families who have seriously ill children with prolonged illness.

"The funds are also used to cover accommodation, travel costs, equipment requirements and pharmacy accounts for these families."
