Rock and Water program introduced

Rock and Water is a program that has been introduced into Brisbane Water Secondary College Umina campus with the assistance of the Uniting Care Burnside, Reconnecting Adolescent Parenting Team (RAPT).

The Rock and Water course aims to assist young people in their development of self-realisation and becoming conscious of their own power and responsibility within society.

The emphasis of the course is on the development of self-confidence, self-knowledge, self-respect, boundary awareness and intuition of the young person.

A goal of the course is teaching young people to deal with power, strength and powerlessness.

During the first two terms, year 7 students from Brooker and Crommelin houses have participated in the course

This term year 7 students from Davis house are participating.

While the RAPT team has facilitated the first two terms of the course, Mr Mark Rae from the PD/H/PE department will now be taking over the course.

Mr Rae said that he feels this course has the potential to greatly enhance the learning environment at the campus for the students involved as the whole school culture.
