Mary Mac's seeks donations for meal service
Mary Mac's Place in Woy Woy is asking people to "Shout a Mate a $6 Plate" by making a donation to its service.
Mary Mac's Place receives no funding and relies 100 per cent on community support, said project officer Ms Sally Baker.
"The service costs over $150,000 per year to run and we provide more than 24,000 meals a year to people in need at a cost of $6 per meal.
"We are aiming to raise funds to cover the costs of these meals so we can keep this essential service running," she said.
"We are located in Woy Woy and are open to anyone who is homeless, lonely or needing a helping hand."
As well as meals, Mary Macs offers emergency grocery supplies and outreach services like housing and health support.
"Without community support and generosity, we would need to turn many people away," said Ms Baker.
