Council provides plants for bushcare group

Central Coast Council has provided the Pearl Beach Bushcare Group with 52 plants to be shared with Pearl Beach Dunecare.

The plants include acacias, banksias and myoporum.

"This gives us a unique opportunity in July to focus on planting, rather than weeding," said bushcare coordinator Mr Stephen Parson.

"The seaward side of north Coral Cres has a large patch where we have weeded.

"This is a great opportunity to revegetate with acacias and maybe the myoporum.

"Also, the northern side of the lagoon mouth near Agate Ave will be a good spot to plant a few of the acacias."

Mr Parsons said he would I would "recruit a small detachment" to tackle this.

The Arboretum has offered guards and some bamboo stakes, he said.

"We are most grateful to the Arboretum for this offer."

For further information, phone Mr Parsons on 0448 75 1595.
