Umina surf club members win Central Coast awards
Umina Surf Life Saving Club has had three of its members win major awards at the Surf Life Saving Central Coast Awards of Excellence.
Mollie Murphy was named Surf Lifesaver of the Year.
"Mollie's dedication to lifesaving is demonstrated through her patrol leadership, youth development initiatives, strategic leadership and mentorship, all of which contribute to enhancing beach safety, member engagement, and the overall effectiveness of the lifesaving organisation."
Davara Marshall was named Young Surf Lifesaver of the Year.
"Davara embodies the spirit of lifesaving and shares her infectious love of lifesaving broadly; contributing significantly through patrols, leading her patrol team, mentoring, continuous skill improvement and leading initiatives like the Women of Umina Patrol and Youth Patrol."
India Darwin was named Rookie of the Year.
"India is a committed young member of Umina SLSC, dedicating many hours on the beach, assisting for nipper water safety, encouraging others to get involved in club activities and being the greatest supporter of her team mates."
The Umina club also placed second for Club of the Year.
