Bridge club holds Novice Pairs championship

Brisbane Water Bridge Club held its championship for novice pairs over two weeks attracting 13 pairs.

Carolyn Harper and Kerry Robertson took out the championship with a two per cent buffer at the close of play.

Their results were consistent with 63 per cent and 62 per cent scores in the two sessions.

Second were Leonie Lovell and Kevin Hughes and club stalwarts Robyn Serra and Carolynne Mucharsky came third.

Novice Pairs Championship overall results were:

1 Carolyn Harper, Kerry Robertson 360.2 (63.19 per cent), 0.67 green points.

2 Leonie Lovell, Kevin Hughes 341.7 (59.95), 0.47.

3 Robyn Serra, Carolynne Mucharsky 308.6 (54.14), 0.34.

4 Wendy Byrne, Edith Marshall 307.1 (53.87), 0.22.

5 Denyse Stephens, Connie Lewis 294.4 (51.65), 0.17.

6 Graham Woof, Caroline Nichols 287.2 (50.39), 0.13.

7 Rohan Creasey, Roz Harvey 284.7 (49.95).

8 Cheryl Pearse, Jenni Murray 281.6 (49.40).

9 John Sandra, Bernadette Sandra 263.5 (46.23).

10 Anne Birt, Merilyn Reid 256.1 (44.92).
