Ocean Beach surf club elects new committee

Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club elected a new management committee at its 102nd annual meeting on Sunday, June 30.

The new committee comprises president Mick Cairns and directors of administration and finance Amanda Lawer, lifesaving Jordan Smith, surf sports Shane Oakes, commercial operations Adrian Aggett, education and training Paul Best and junior activities Jasmine Rybie.

"It was a fantastic attendance and is reassuring to see so many members taking an interest in the club," said Mr Cairns.

"The contribution from the outgoing committee has been significant and we thank them for their years of service."

He thanked outgoing directors Angela Argall, Greg Argall and Gavin Falconer for their commitment and dedication to their portfolios over the previous two years.

"Your tireless efforts have made a difference to the club and something the new management committee can now build upon going forward.

He thanked outgoing president Dean Slattery for his dedication, commitment and leadership over the past six years.

"Navigating the club through its 100-year celebrations and the Covid pandemic and leading the club through a period of growth during this difficult period is testament to your leadership qualities and your unwavering commitment and passion for Ocean Beach SLSC and surf lifesaving," said Mr Cairns.
