Tennis 'tragics' take a chance

The weather seemed like it was going to be too rainy to play tennis, or the court would be puddle, on Saturday morning, June 1.

Nevertheless, a small group of Pearl Beach "tennis tragics" showed up on the off-chance of a game.

They were not just people local to Pearl Beach but also folk from Empire Bay and Blackwall who had too leave home when it was still actually raining.

On arrival at 8.30am, the court was a bit damp but the drainage was good, so they started to play in just a little drizzle.

The rain held off until 10.30am when it bucketed down with more than 100mm falling over the rest of the day and night.

"But we'd already had two full hours of fun and exercise," they said.
