School encourages participation in ICAS program

Woy Woy Public School is encouraging parents to enter their children in the 2024 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools.

"Woy Woy Public School will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS competitions this year," said the school's ICAS co-ordinator Ms Amy Ford.

"ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students' higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, mathematics, science, writing, spelling and digital technologies.

"Each assessment celebrates students' accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development.

"Every student who participates will receive a printed certificate and an online results report.

"Top performers will be eligible for medals."

The assessments will be open to Years 2 to 6 students in all subjects for a cost of $19.95, except for writing, which is open to Years 3 to 6 and costs $23.95.

The assessments are held during August.

"We are proud to offer ICAS and look forward to some fantastic results later in the year," said Ms Ford.
