Average June rain falls in one week

The Peninsula has had 94 per cent of the average June rainfall in the first week of the month.

Falls of 100.9mm on June 2 and 22.8mm on June 7 contributed to a total of 132.9mm, just 8.1 mm short of the June average of 141mm, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.

Last month finished with a total of 241.7mm, more than three times the May average of 74mm.

Rainfall this year totalled 799.6mm at the end of May, 17.9 per cent above the average of 678mm.

After last week's rain, the year's total was 932.5mm, already 13.9 per cent more than the average mid-year figure of 819mm.
