Umina wins Grade 5 pennant

Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club has won the Grade 5 Open Pennant in Bowls Central Coast competition on Sunday, May 19.

Having won section 2 of the competition, Umina played Terrigal winners of section 1 in the final at Ettalong Bowling Club.

"The game was played on a perfect green, in sunny, cool and blustery conditions," said Umina club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"Both teams played very well and it was a great game to watch.

"But it was the Umina Beach Kingfishers who came out on top, winning all three rinks and the Big Board by 70 to 45."

Mr Springett said: "This was a significant win by the Umina Beach Kingfishers, who now go on to represent the Peninsula and Bowls Central Coast in the NSW State Finals at Cabramatta in late June."
