Shay Bennett becomes youngest golf champion

Everglades' four-round Men's Golf Championship wrapped up on Saturday, May 18, in cold and windy conditions.

Shay Bennett became the youngest Club Champion, when his final round of 71 gave him a winning score of 281.

Brendan James was three shots back at 284.

He claimed the A Grade nett trophy.

A Reserve was taken out by Trevor Walker, with Adam Buckley winning the nett.

B Grade Champion was Matthew Healy, with Daryl Creighton claiming the nett.

In C grade, Joel Rogers defeated Cooper Bickley in a playoff.

Michael James took out the nett, matching his father's result in A grade.

Shay also won the Junior Championship and Michael the Junior nett.

Tony Tully was the Senior Champion.

The C Grade Pennants team won the Central Coast District Golf Association competition this year.
