Woy Woy Wolves opens baseball registration

Woy Woy Wolves Baseball Club has opened registration for this year's season.

The club has been forced to raise player fees for the first time in over a decade.

Fees for new players for 2024 will be $220.

Of this, less than 10 per cent goes to the club.

Baseball Australia "capitation" is $63, Baseball NSW capitation is $72.70 and Central Coast Baseball Association affiliation $65, while club affiliation is just $19.30.

Operating costs are still heavily subsidised by Ettalong Bowling Club.

Competition will start on Saturday, April 6.

Teams will be entered into the Pacific Coast Baseball League competition and locally for lower grades.

Preseason training will be held on February 25 and March 10, 17, 24 and 31.

Uniform distribution will be held on March 17 and 31.

Registration is open for both volunteers and players.

Volunteer registration includes non-playing coaches, umpires, scorers and general volunteers.

Player registration includes playing coaches.

For winter-only players, fees are $220.

For those registered for summer 23/24, the fees are $84.30.
